Hello world!

I, Liberal a bastion of unapologetic left wing thoughts, musings and meditations. I am a liberal. Dye in the wool, bottled in bond with my heart bleeding a big mess all over the floor. What I am not is a knee jerk liberal. Some mighty unappetizing things float over from my side of the isle and those will be discussed here too.

Let’s begin with the gutlessness of progressive party. Some years ago (oh, look it up) the right wing decided the term liberal was too popular and set about redefining the meaning of the word. Rather than fight back the left caved.

“Oh no we aren’t liberal, we’re progressive” we whined. It was the opening the far right had been looking for. They moved in and have been controlling the narrative ever since. Think not? How many people do you know who are comfortable describing themselves as “woke”.

As tempting as it is to spend time picking at our own wounds things are bad. And we need our attention on the very real threats from the millionaires, miscreants and the misinformed. I promise to be as accurate as I can be without devoting my every waking moment to this page. Must leave time for ice cream. When I am guessing, assuming or deducting I will say so. I am a liberal and I will make no apologies. Well, perhaps one to Mr. Asimov.
